Terms of Service

Last updated · 17 August 2026

These terms are meant to be read, so they are short and in plain language. If something here seems unfair or unclear, tell us — we would rather fix the terms than hide behind them.

1. What Saff is

Saff is an app for tracking the five daily prayers, keeping a streak with your family, and paying down your qaza. It is a tool for your own practice. It is not a religious authority: prayer times are astronomical calculations based on the method and madhab you choose, and rulings about your worship belong to you and the scholars you trust, not to an app.

2. Your account

You need an account to use Saff, created with Sign in with Apple. You agree to give your real name — family circles depend on it — and to keep your account to yourself. You must be at least 13 years old. You can delete your account at any time from inside the app, under You → Settings; deletion is immediate and total.

3. Free tier and subscription

The core of Saff is free: logging prayers, prayer times, your streak, and your qaza ledger. The free tier includes one streak save per month — when you miss a prayer and make it up inside the grace window, the save preserves your streak.

The family subscription unlocks family circles for your household and unlimited streak saves. The current price and term are always shown in the app before you subscribe.

You’re paying for the tools, never the worship. Nothing you need in order to pray, log a prayer, or make one up is ever behind the paywall.

4. Billing, renewal, and refunds

Subscriptions are purchased through Apple and billed to your Apple account. They renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, which you can do at any time in your device’s subscription settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s policies; we never see your payment details. If you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.

5. Family circles

Circles are for family and people you actually know. When you join one, the other members see your name, your current streak, and a daily summary of whether your day was complete, saved, excused, or incomplete — as described in our Privacy Policy. You may not use circles to harass, pressure, or shame anyone. Nudges are limited to one per person per day on purpose.

6. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to falsify prayer records for others, interfere with the service, probe or breach its security (except responsible disclosure, which we welcome and credit), reverse-engineer the server, or use Saff for anything unlawful. We may suspend accounts that abuse other members or the service, and we will tell you why if we do.

7. Your data

Your prayer log is yours. We store it to run the service, as described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms. We do not sell it, show you ads, or share it with advertisers. You can export or delete everything at any time.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep Saff reliable, but we cannot promise it will never be down, and prayer time calculations — while careful — are calculations. Verify times with your local mosque where precision matters. We may change or discontinue features; if a change materially reduces what a paid subscription includes, we will tell you before it takes effect and you may cancel.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Saff is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the same extent, our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Termination

You can stop using Saff and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, after notice where reasonable. Sections that by their nature should survive — liability limits, your data rights — survive termination.

11. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Saff after that means you accept the new terms; if you do not, delete your account and, if you have one, cancel your subscription.
